Estancia Del Zorro Lodge
The Estancia del Zorro is a very special place. Situated an hour northeast of Coyhaique on a private 15,000 acre ranch, Estancia del Zorros's guides will expose you to some of the most thrilling small spring creek fly fishing to be had anywhere. The property has exclusive access to the world famous "Zorro Spring Creek" - home to some real huge brown trout. You will also fish other properties in Chile and Argentina- some with rainbows, others with browns- each one a special place!
The lodge itself is a converted sheep ranch owned by the Galilea family. Set in the plains below Chile's Andes Mountains, the "wild west" feeling is readily apparent. With each sunrise and sunset, the tones change the scenery completely. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. The food and wines are top notch. The guides are world class professionals! You will come back richer in friendships gained, and experiences had! (Probably with some pictures of larger fish as well!)
We visited the lodge in Jan of 2008 with a group of 6 people. I can honestly say that to a man, this was one of the more memorable trips anyone of us have taken. All of these pictures are from our recent trip. Please call Andy to find out details.
Chile has been the safest, stable and most friendy South American country. The Aysen Region of Chile has preserved a unique fishery that has made it world wide famous, as the resident brown trout capital of South America. Estancia Del Zorro is located 50 minutes from Coyhaique, the Capital City of the Aysen Region. To get to the lodge you just have to fly to Balmaceda airport, 3 hours south from Santiago. Once here the staff will be waiting for you at the airport and will drive for 45 minutes to the Lodge.
With Estancia Del Zorro you will enjoy their Patagonian culture as much as the quality of this regions world-class Fly Fishing in Chile.
We visited the lodge in Jan of 08 and were more than impressed. When someone wants to fish Chile, and has a desire to get a well rounded experience, I highly recommend this lodge.
