Montana's historic Firehole Ranch is the perfect wild trout escape. Guests fish some of the west's best wild trout waters, including legendary rivers like the Yellowstone, Madison, Ruby, Gallatin, Firehole, Henry's Fork, Gibbon, Lamar,Soda Butte and Slough Creek, among others. It's unforgettable fishing amidst some the most spectacular scenery in the world.

Since 1947, this classic Montana lodge, named after the dramatic Firehole River, has been a welcome retreat for discriminating fly fishing enthusiasts. Its secluded location combined with the unmatched variety and abundance of nearby blue-ribbon trout waters, makes for an incomparable fly fishing experience.

Nestled on the shores of Hebgen Lake and tucked against the mighty Madison mountain range, the sprawling 640-acre Firehole Ranch is situated close at hand to Yellowstone National Park. Listed as a National Historic District, it is a cultural and architectural landmark. Handcrafted in the 1940's from Lodge Pole Pine trees harvested locally, the main lodge and cabins have been maintained over the years to retain the original style, elegance, and grace of yesteryear, yet updated with modern conveniences and creature comforts.

The Firehole Ranch has garnered world-wide acclaim, including selection as one of the top 20 lodges in the world in The World's Great Luxury Fishing Resorts. Open for only a brief 14 weeks (mid-June thru mid-September), and hosting a select 20 guests a week, you truly become a part of the Firehole Family during your stay.

Integral to the captivating appeal of the Firehole Ranch is the original, gourmet western cuisine prepared by Master Chefs Bruno and Kris Georgeton, who are celebrating their 20th season pleasing lodge guests with their culinary mastery. After a rewarding day on the water, you can unwind with a cocktail and get to know your fellow guests, while anticipating one of their delectable dinner creations.

Southwest Montana will captivate you with its pristine, rugged beauty, including nearby Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, two of the most unique and spectacular natural wonders in the world. If you prefer to try something different, let the Ranch Wrangler customize a day of fly fishing and horseback riding with a trip to Coffin Lake. Prefer to take a day off from the fishing: try some mountain biking/hiking on the miles of trails available in the surrounding Gallatin National Forest or canoeing on Hebgen Lake. Whatever you choose, you're guaranteed to see some of the most breathtaking country in the west, as well as lots of wildlife, including; bears, elk, moose, fox, wolf, bison, eagle and much more.
