Elk Hair & Elk Mane
Elk Hair is a must for down winged flies such as caddis and stonefly patterns. Natural elk has a dun color base with lighter tips.
Bleached Elk is a lighter version of the natural. It a blondish tan and is used on some of the later season caddis patterns.
Elk Mane is from the neck of the elk where the fibers are longer. Best use is on the largest hair winged flies like stimulators and salmon fly patterns.
