Healing Waters lodge

The original Healing Waters building was a hospital, built in the late 1890's. Although radically transformed over the decades since, its initial purpose is reflected in the operations name and its dedication to great fishing. For many years it was owned and operated by Greg and Janet Lilly. Greg's father, Bud, is considered one of the pioneers of western trout fishing and Greg grew up in the shadows of Bud's well known fly shop in West Yellowstone. But he also charted his own path, notching a masters degree in hotel management along the way, bringing a professional touch as well as years of experience to Healing Waters. In 2012 Mike Geary and his wife bought the lodge, adding it to their already highly rated float trip operations on the Smith River.

Larger rivers like the Beaverhead, Big Hole, Jefferson and Madison are prime targets for day long floats. Smaller watersheds, including the Ruby, South Boulder and upper Clark Fork are more intimate and prime for walk-wade trips. Additional private waters, including several spring creeks, are also available to add even further variety to the lodge's varied menu. Browns, rainbows and cutthroat trout are all plentiful, depending on where you elect to fish, with daily shots at 18 to 20" plus trophies. Healing Waters' crew of guides know their way around this territory well, and are both eager to create special days on the water for each and every guest. No matter if you are making your first foray into Western trout country or are a seasoned hand, their professionalism will shine brightly throughout the day.

Healing Waters is not a large operation and prefers to stay small and personal, so every guest gets a maximum of personal service and the daily operation remains flexible. Nine double occupancy rooms are all well appointed, with all the standard comforts including private, en-suite bathrooms. When the day is done, sooth tired casting arms in their hot tub, shoot a game of pool, relax on the porch and watch trout dimple the surface of the pond (or make a few casts if you didn't get enough fishing in that day). Meals are always a special treat at Healing Waters, from custom cooked breakfasts to hearty dinners and homemade desserts.

Flexibility is the goal at Healing Waters. Arrive any day you prefer and fish as many days as your schedule allows. Packages include all meals, accommodations and guided fishing, based on 2 anglers sharing a room and boat/guide.
