Bighorn River Lodge

The beauty of the lodge is that it sits on the banks of the Bighorn River, with over 13 miles of prime river frontage within easy reach of lodge guests. It's possible to end a day long float within a two minute walk back to all of the comforts of home & more!

The main lodge features Montana-style updated decor. The lodge has five bedrooms, each equipped with two beds, fine linens and a private bathroom. King size beds are available for couples upon request. A large living room and dining area create a gathering space for guests to mingle, play cards and share fishing tales.

BRL's fine cuisine is prepared by a first class chef and is a highlight of any stay. Homemade meals are prepared only with the freshest ingredients and served with great style. Each morning begins with a heaty Montana breakfast. The lodge provides boat lunches and snacks on the river during your day of fishing. A typical dinner might include your choice of Merlot Glazed Beef Short Ribs or Cornmeal Crusted Trout with Lemon Caper sauce, served with Garlic Roasted Mashed Potatoes and Bacon wrapped Asparagus. Sunset appetizers and delectable desserts are sure to please the most discriminating taste buds.

After a long day of fishing, you and your friends can relax on the outdoor patios, sharing a cold beverage, watching the river gently flow by. A five acre pond stocked with large-mouth bass, carp and a few trout sits at the center of the property and is available to guests who want a few additional hours of fishing after their float is done. Or walk down to their private boat ramp on the river and cast for a few more trout while watching the sun set over the Bighorn Mountains.

The Bighorn River's reputation as a world class fishery speaks for itself. With the completion of Yellowtail Dam in 1967, the Bighorn became a clear, cool tailwater hosting between 5000-7000 rainbow and brown trout per mile. The average trout ranges in size from sixteen to twenty inches. Few fisheries boast such an abundance of large trout and guests are pleasantly surprised by quality of the fish and the number of trout that can be caught each day. The fishery has water that will satisfy most every angling approach, from nymphing to stripping streamers to tons of dry fly action. As trout adapt to changing water conditions and aquatic insect life, fishing conditions vary. Your guide will work with you to find the approach that fits your experience level, expectations and conditions.

The Big Horn is an exceptional fishery and Big Horn River Lodge an ideal place to enjoy its many bounties.
