This is a fantastic fly rod for travel or not, it has mostly replaced my 4pc. As an airline pilot I use this rod (5wt) while traveling all over the world, it has great action and pushes through the wind. Being an 8pc it wraps up so well you don’t even need to use the case, so the compactness is incredible. The only downside is that you need to be very conscientious about putting the sections together and to periodically check them throughout your time fishing, the rod sections have a tendency to detach if you aren’t. While Chicago Fly wasn’t selling it when I purchased mine, I’m glad the are now. I might have to update may travel 8wt!
