Two Day Fly Fishing School In Wisconsin
Saturday & Sunday, June 1st & 2nd
This two day class takes place on a living, beautiful spring creek, an incredible classroom!
Our staff is passionate about fly fishing and has two full days to teach and share.
The "instruction" encompasses the following areas of concentration and will be presented by our expert instructors:
* Casting and on-stream presentation techniques
* Knot tying basics
* Collection of aquatic insects and an entomology overview all designed to help students understand fly selection and how "bugs" play into the game
* Basic equipment selection and use
* Understanding of stream hydrology, fish biology and habitat
* Application of learned techniques with "guided" fishing demos
All necessary equipment(rods,reels, flies and leaders) and instructional materials are provided. Students will need to arrange for their own transportation, lodging, meals, & Wisconsin fishing license.
"I just wanted to drop you a note to thank you (as well Phil and Dave) for a terrific seminar. It was really awesome. Several things to note in particular. First, the ?ands on?instruction regarding the insects and crustaceans in the river was excellent. Combining that with the written materials and lecture on mayflies and caddis was a nice combination. Particularly effective because it was comprehensive without being too confusing.
Second, it helped that, after illustrating the trout food, you gave us our own trout food and told us to pick out and fish our own flies. No better way to reaffirm knowledge than by putting what you just learned to use.
Third, the explanation of reading the water was perfect. The fact that the river is so small and wadable also helped reaffirm that lesson because you could literally get into the river and physically feel the seams, etc.
Fourth I thought all three of you guys were excellent and clear in your instruction. So thanks much.
Last but not least thanks to all of you on this email. What a pleasant, intelligent, interesting, fun group of folks. The dinner on Saturday night was great and I?l never forget Peter going behind the bar to mix his own drinks."

Thanks for the excellent Fly Fishing School that Paul, Phil and you presented at Castle Rock. Your Chicago Fly Fishing Outfitters program far exceeded other programs I have experienced. Since taking up fly fishing a few years ago I have been continually trying to improve. After a weekend with you guys I left feeling my knowledge and technique had definitely moved up a level. I especially appreciated the focus on the Wisconsin's Driftless Area. I was also impressed that several attendees who had never done any fly fishing were competently casting and knowledgeably fishing by the program's end. Every aspect of your program was excellent and, with 10 students and 3 instructors, it was like getting individual instruction. I would unhesitatingly recommend this school.
