Richard Brautigan was a god of the counterculture, a phenomenon who saw his star rise to fame & fortune, only to plummet during the next decade. He was the author of 10 novels, nine volumes of poetry, and a collection of short stories. He lived for many years in San Francisco, and toward the end of his life he divided his time between a ranch in Montana and Tokyo.
