The "V" shaped narrow arbor pictured below, is a tremendous innovation. It channels or guides the backing and fly line automatically, so that you can concentrate on fighting the fish without worrying about how your backing is being distributed. More importantly. it adds tremendous integrity or strength to the thin wall design of the spool.

Some of the best gear I've EVER used...............if Sweden would ship more gear, I would buy more, and I own the dry fly reel, runner reel, Speedrunner reel, and spools for all. Not to mention Loop polar tech layering for the summer & winter..............some of the best layering I've EVER had! My Loop Cross S1 590-4, Cross S1 796-4, & my Spey 7120-4 Cross S1 are all my FAVORITE rods!!!!!!!
