INTERMEDIATE FLY FISHING SCHOOL
June 1st & 2nd
About half of each day will be spent on the water discussing approach & strategy and working on presentation skills. Off the water we will spend time talking about various information & skills such as:
- Intermediate Fly Casting: Loop control, curve casting, reach casting, slack line casting, roll casting
- Intermediate Line Control: various mending techniques, reduction of unwanted slack
- Anglers Entomology: understanding of aquatic biodiversity, observational insect identification & fly selection
- Anatomy of a Trout Stream: 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water
- Psychology of a Trout: What are the needs of trout and what areas satisfy these needs, fish feeding behavior
- Knots & Rigging: Various rigging options and how to choose the right one for a given situation
- Presentation: How to get the fly to the fish in the most efficient manner - Approach and Strategy: How to come up with an effective game plan for a given situation, where to stand & where to cast
